Gipsy Plains Brahman Stud

Situated north of Cloncurry, Gipsy Plains is owned and operated by the Curley family

The stud has been producing high quality red and grey Brahmans for over 40 years, focusing on fertility, temperament, weight for age and good structure. Females are also udder scored annually.

We have sourced and bred many outstanding sires and females over the years which pass on what we select for. Large scale AI & IVF programs have been a major part of the operation over many decades.

Our red herd has a very large poll base now and it's a constant challenge sourcing and breeding high quality genetics with the above mentioned traits. The grey herd is ever increasing its poll genetics, the future is looking bright for us with a large acquisition of the Kaiuroo (Tartrus) stud herd when they dispersed. These genetics are kicking goals for us.

With exceptional quiet temperament, our cattle are good grass converters, achieve high weight gains in feedlots & are tender and tasty on the plate.
